Kathryn Sainsbury-Wilkes is a photographer and researcher based in West Cornwall, with an educational background focussed on Natural History and Darkroom Photography. Her work is rooted in the specificity of place, providing central themes of Cornish history, folklore and landscape. Projects are often long term and adaptive, taking form in a variety of outputs from photographs, moving image, community projects, educational talks and installations. Her work has been exhibited as far as New York and around the UK, with a current focus on Cornish Fogous and their role in the historical ritual landscape.
